NYC Part II

Saturday morning in NYC was beautiful.
I jumped on the Subway and headed to lower Manhattan to see where the new WTC is being built.

I was shocked at how far along they are with all the construction.

I also wanted to see the memorial wall

I just so happened to be there at the same time as all these men in uniform.

I couldn't figure out what they were doing for the longest time.
But they were all so young and some favored my brother.

Then I peaked a little closer and saw this

The wall is pretty long and quite beautiful

The second half of my day involved this trendy dude, a few $12 dollar beers, and lots of tight baseball pants.
That is Colin. He is my friend and if you are in NYC and want a cute friend-boy let me know. I got the hook up.

My friend Joe helped us get tickets to the first game of the season.
We had pretty bad a$$ tickets too.

And it was the perfect way to spend such a gorgeous Spring afternoon.
See.

Been to Yankee Stadium?
Who is your favorite player?

After $36 worth of beer I was totally digging on this babe

NYC Part I

How much fun did I have last weekend in NYC?

Well, let's just say that one glass of wine wasn't sufficient to cure my blues.

Now, one bottle....that did the trick.... for a few hours anyways.

I arrived in NYC late Thursday night and was greeted by my Court in her Bama Rose Bowl sweatshirt.
Friday I had a good amount of time on my own so I wondered around and snapped a bunch of pics. It was raining all day and FA-Reeezing.
What better way to warm up then to try and find Chuck Bass?

It just so happened that the restaurant I was meeting my friend Colin at was right around the corner from The Palace. Please, like I didn't already look like a tourist...had to take a pic.

After lunch I was heading to Bergdorf and passed this

I think it was Vodka but I couldn't figure it out.
But if it is Vodka, that is a very happy sight.

What's that look like?
Were you thinking boobies? Well, you're a pervert.
They look like two eyeballs duh!

 These were pretty cool too

I was getting really nervous because the sales associate was following me around so my flash was off

And then I came across these suckers

That would be a chalkboard candle

And why didn't I think of this?

I mean really?! These things are selling in Bergdorf! UGH. I could be rich if only I had been first!

Then I met Court and we headed to Mary Poppins

It was so cute. And much to the dismay of those around me....I sang.

Aren't you jealous?!

Goodnight (bc I am writing this on Tuesday night) I have to go cry now.

Zac Brown Band

St. Patrick's Day, yea, like 3 weeks ago, Manfriend and I went to see Zac Brown Band play at the Rodeo.

We have a lot of cute friends.

Those two on the left are pretty cute and I guess they think we are kinda cute too because they invited us to go with them. They even let us sit with them.

Marilee and I did not particularly care for this photo but after the random limo guy attempted to take it with the lens on and the power off, we decided to say thanks and press on.

In case you were wondering, he was not OUR random limo guy.

Zac Brown was awesome.
I cried during"Free."
Sure did.

Marilee gave up processed food for Lent so she had a pretzel for dinner.
I gave up flour so I had an extra-ginormo-econo-size tub of buttery popcorn.

That is all....I had a pretty bad headache the next day.

Happy late St. Patrick's Day.

**UPDATE**
Something C-C-Crazy happened and this thing posted in March 2001...I was a Freshmen in High school (I think) then....whatever

Moody Monday

I haven't spent time with Sara Evans in a while so I was excited when this one came on my tiny radio at work the other day.
I am pretty sure that we can all apply this song to several times/parts of our lives.

Might as well start off the week feeling strong.

Go get 'em!

Rodeo and the 'Rents

I'm in NYC today but I thought I would catch you up on a past event.

A few weekends ago my parents stopped in Houston on their way to Tucson, AZ.

Saturday we headed to the Rodeo and spent the entire day sassing around in our boots

Manfriend played the part pretty easily.

Those are mom's...she ended up taking them off and going barefoot by the end of the day....don't think she had broken them in enough at that point.

One of the exhibits was a tablescape competition

How cute would those be hung in a little boy's room?

Then we headed to the animals.

Look at the size of this guy. Can you imagine how tired your neck would be holding those horns up all day?! And how do you lay down?

I had never seen this kind of cattle/cow before. She had floppy ears like a bunny.

This was beyond cool! You could watch all these chicks hatch. That one had just cracked out!

You can see the ones with the holes where they are pecking through.

We thought the one on the left was dead...nope, just resting.

Then there was another area where the ones that had hatched were hanging out.
Look how fluffy and sweet they are.
Disregard the poop. That's gross.

Then there was this guy.

He belonged to this cute girl. We chatted for a bit.
She was telling us that the slits in each ear tell what momma they are from and what number in the litter they are. I would have never known that....kinda cool...kinda sad that they cut their ears....but hey, we put holes in ours voluntarily.

After a while we headed out to the carnival area.
That is when we saw this.

You could pay to put your child inside of a bubble and let them roll around on the pool.

Looked really neat but all I could think of was "what if they throw up in there?"

Made for some cool pictures though.

Then it was rodeo time.

Obvs cotton candy was in high demand.

Calf scramble was by far mom's favorite event.
She could probably care less about the rest.

This girl would not stop pulling the poor things tale.

Gary Allen was playing that night but we only stayed for about 2 songs. His acoustics weren't that great for some reason.

I had so much fun with them. They're pretty legit 'rents if you ask me.
