Santa Brought Me Babies and Space Bags.

A good deal of my Christmas Eve was spent with my two new favorites

Meet Truitt and Cecelia. Yea, I know, you wish they were yours.

The first part of the day involved a lot of active and "make the baby smile" time while our photographer worked on getting 1 good picture to use for our family New Years card.

Cecelia and I discussed which colors will look best with her eyes and skin tone while I toted her around like my a fabulous new clutch.

After a LONG photo session, brunch, and gift exchange, everyone washed their faces, put on their cozy duds, and settled in for a nice nap.

By the grace of the tired parents, Gran (my mom), Big (my dad), and the siblings with prior engagements, I lucked out with both nuggets in my arms and lap for 3 hours!!!

Give me a book and these two any day!

My brother called me a week before Christmas to ask me what I wanted (he is more of a "crunch time" kind of guy).
To his dismay I asked for these...

He thinks they are the most boring gift ever.

I think they will be stellar for packing all my shiz for London. And let's be real, they will be pretty kick a$$ to use. I just keep imagining how much stuff I can fit in and then cranking up the Dyson to suck all that useless air out.

This must be what happens when you turn 25...excited beyond belief for a new swiffer and vacuum seal bags.

OH boy! What is 26 going to bring?!

IKEA Experience

I had this empty wall and a major lack of storage.

So, after browsing the Internet for the cheapest fix,
I headed to IKEA to purchase these bad boys
I got white so that if I want to paint it later I can.

Normally I can be a pretty patient person.
This night, not so much.
The box was 73lbs.
In order to get the thing up my stairs (was alone and refused to wait on Manfriend), I had to rip it into shreds and carry up the pieces one at a time.

Then I scoffed at the fat little men telling me I had to have an assembly partner
and got to work.

Many frustrated outburst later

Then came the fun part...

I was too exhausted to "style" it but wanted to get a few things out of plastic bins.
Now all of my scrapbooks, cook books, magazine clippings, stamps, stickers, workout gear....has its own nice little cube.

Sorry for the lighting, it was 9:30 and y'all know my camera is AWFUL to begin with.
You get the point. Empty wall is gone, crafty tools have a place, plastic bins stacked in corner are gone, and I am becoming a bit more organized.

Now I just need to get around to making it look fancy.

Any cute tips for me?

DIY

One of my 2011 resolutions is to catch up on all of my "half way there" projects.
One particular project....jewelry organization.

I have been slowly working on this for a little while now (6 months)
Maybe these will light that creative fire again.

One of my favorites has to be all the tea cups.
If you are my virtual friend, you know I heart little girly expensive things that break easily...don't ask why....but at this particular time in my life, I am lacking the extra drawer space.

So, for the past year I have been collecting these

via Anthropologie, World Market, yard sales...and so on.

Now, my plan has been to find an old shutter
or maybe several small ones

then screw all the knobs in to hang all my necklaces.
Finishing this project will free up some drawer space, closet space, AND craft box space!

Weekend forecast =rain
I'm thinking this could be the perfect rainy day project.

Merry (late) Christmas

Pardon my tardiness, it has been a busy few days.
So busy that yesterday I ended up taking a mental health day.

I was feeling a bit like this...

And a lot like this...

Why is it that the Holidays can be so dang detrimental to my emotional stability, mental sanity, and physical existence?
No answer? Thanks a lot...

During my 10 hour escape from society I finished this book

Unpacked my suitcase

Did a few loads

and just generally got my life back in order

So now I kind of feel like this

If only we could take mental health days like once a week!
