Paper

I want to wallpaper the tiny back splash areas of my tiny kitchen of my tiny apartment.
The other day I was perusing Katie Ridder's website and am really loving these
Leaf in Grey

Peony in blue

If you recall from way earlier posts, my living room drapes are similar to this

with match stick blinds.
I have a small love seat in a creamy oatmeal color and my walls are white horizontal board.
The living room and kitchen are really just one big room separated by my little desk/office nook.

The gray leaf would be understated while the peony would add a punch of femininity....hmmmm.

Thoughts? Other suggestions? Stencils maybe?

Giveaway ends February 1st.

Color Confident

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes I get REAL a-scared of color.
Not Jeffrey Bilhuber.
Check out his design for a Pennsylvania Farmhouse...

His color choices are so confident.
Kumquat and Eggplant proving a brilliant duo

Regal blues with golden summer squash colored upholstery.
(check the ram horn curls on the arms)

Curtains and walls in sage for an outdoors feeling in the sunroom.
FYI the wicker sofa is 17 ft long

One wall of the hallway is the old exterior of the house providing some gorgeous stone and texture.

Walls, once again, upholstered in sage green in the living room.

I like how Jeffrey uses bold colors that compliment other muted tones that he seems in surrounding landscape and atmosphere.

Wonder what the color for "humid" is? That would be pretty dominant in my decor.

Ty Larkins, I'm Movin In

Designer Ty Larkins' take on Traditional Southern interiors in his Baton Rouge home.

Scream "Romantic" and please cha-cha-check out the Herringbone floor

I see an English muffin, latte (non-fat duh) and stacks of design mags waiting under that iron-and-crystal chandelier from Niermann Weeks

1920s style Southern Mansion kitchen- generous in size yet simple
Carrara Marble on island and countertops....I'm drooling

Kitchen chalkboard by Ballard Designs
(Bagels, not english muffin. I was close)

By far my favorite room. The library oozes comfort with those upholstered pieces and zebra, zebra, zebra

Louis XVI mirror reflecting ceiling detail and dark clubbiness of the room

I like their monochromatic palette for the bedroom. Simple but has a feeling of serenity to it.

Watch out! I would be water-logged most of my life and live in this travertine tile, spa-like atmosphere.

And of course, what is a Southern home without outdoor seating complete with draperies and ceiling fans

Patio inspired by intimate courtyards in the French Quarter.
Fig Ivy covering walls gives a feeling of privacy.

Sticky Fingers

So, I found out my neighbor has been taking my House Beautiful and reading it.
When she gave me my February issue Sunday I knew that the post office was no longer to blame.
Now I just have to figure out how to confront this "situation" and get my December and January issues.
Did I mention she is also my landlord?
Yep...

The rest of this week will be devoted to my beloved mag, starting today with Tyler and his chunk Dorothy.
Enjoy lovers.
Shame on me- not only is he married, he has 3 precious minis running around
(Dorothy 2, above)
Check out their organic baby food Sprout

"Florence Family Circus" chalkboard wall.
Seems that you cannot go wrong with some chalkboard paint and babies.
No babies and chalk board paint is rad too.

Somebody hand me an apron and pour we a grande glass of vino, I'm coming over!

Couldn't lay around today because too many meetings at work.

Hands down, best blanket ever

Townhouse Fit For a Queen

Well, this queen anyways.
Meet Bita Daryabari. She is gorgeous, looks sassy and she has a fabulous 7 story, 5 bedroom Historic Townhouse in London.

And it looks like this....

That is a Picasso btw...she has one in her San Fran home also....yep

yellow drapes never looked so good

I bet she cooks every meal.....and wears that outfit while doing it.
Doubt It

Not as impressed with the master bedroom as I am the master bath...

umm, hello! Walls sheathed in Calcata Marble!

Please don't stop there...put some Jerusalem stone and marble under my cold toes-ies please

I bet the little chunks who stay here are C.U.T.E.

Not so sure a lot of playing goes on in this "playroom."

Bita, sister, we need to meet for tea.
