Moody Monday

I downloaded this one right after getting home from the movies.
My friend Erin and I had dinner (popcorn) and saw Something Borrowed.

Happy Monday. Enjoy the eye candy in this video.

Prom

I've been feeling old.
Not "old" old but like "2 years out of college, 6 years out of high school" old.
Know what I mean?

And I've been thinking that maybe I should throw a party and invite lots of other people that are feeling old.
And we should have a Prom party.

But not like real Prom.
Like, "Thrift Store/70s-80s Wedding" Prom

Because really, that's the type of Prom we all wish we had?

So, who wants to be on the guest list?

Hello Abs, I mean Congressman

Normally I am not into Politics and I'll be honest, I don't like follow too much.

But someone has finally figured out how to get people like me to pay attention.

Enter Congressman Aaron Schock...

Um, yeas, that is "Schock-ing."

Happy Hump Day.

Not that kind of "hump." Get your heads out of the gutter.

Sweaty Antiques

This past Sunday I spent a few hours antiquing.

Why is it that none of these places have air conditioning?

Anyways, I snapped a few pics of things I liked, thought were weird....so on

I've started to accept that I like to have a few strange things, I mean unique, to mix in with the more "normal" pieces.

I was raised by and grew up with hunters.
Sorry...but there is someone gorgeous about a beautiful animal head, rug, coat...

For as long as I can remember I have wanted sketches of chubby nude people in my grown-up bathroom. They are simple yet gorgeous. In a beautiful frame? Nice.

I don't even know what this sh*t is. And I could never begin to describe it so documentation was my only option. Any guesses?

Call me crazy but recover this baby in something like these Amy Butler fabrics

and what a statement it would make at my built-in desk in my all white kitchen.

There were cool when thinking about a kids playroom

Then I found these chairs which reminded me of ones that my friend Meri had when we were little.

But the entire purpose of this trip was to find an old shutter.
I have been talking and talking and talking about making a necklace holder and the only thing that has been stopping me was the lack of a shutter.

I headed to Adkins Architectural Antiques close to downtown Houston where I fell in love with doors. That's correct, doors.
See for yourself.

They had all these gorgeous HUGE doors salvaged from old homes and buildings.

And I just fell in love.

And now aim to build a house out of doors.

Who knew doors could have me in such a trance.

I didn't go home with doors.

But I did purchase one lonely shutter that will soon be hanging on my wall displaying a few of my gems.

After a little TLC I will post all about my little project.

Ever been surprised by how something like a door could swoop in and take over your heart?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out,

Langham London

So, I told y'all that my sister, dad and I are heading to Europe in September for 11 days...
We are starting our trip with three days in London and ending with three days in London.

The last nights of our trip are going to be spent here

The Langham, London.

It opened as the first grand hotel in Europe in 1865 and is in a PRIME-O location.
And the exterior is pretty monstrous and generally bad-ask looking.

The Palm Court, the center piece of the hotel, where afternoon tea was born 140 years ago.
One lump of two?
No worries, they serve champagne also...Don't mind if I do.

I'll probably have to have a pre-party cocktail at Artesian, which specializes in Rum
Rum-dum-da-dum-dum-da

Or maybe I'll just lay on this gorgeous tile and, yea, just lay on this gorgeous tile.

Can you feel it?

That's me getting excited.

T-minus 3 months and two weeks.
Yum!

Thoughts?

Go Forth and Bake with Beans

Remember my post about black bean brownies?

Well I made them

And y'all, they are good.

My hips don't lie.

I made them for my friend's dinner party but I ate a few.
Had to sample one from every corner. You know, just in case.

Go here for the recipe.
Only 4 weight watcher points.
I cut them into 28 squares but the recipe says 4 points for one when cut into 20 squares.
I'm gonna round 2 for 4 points.

Go forth and bake.

Chocolate and Black Bean Kisses,
Sarah

Or just note cards

I want prints and note cards

Oh lawd that paisley one!

Now if only I could have them all in "big girl/real size people" version.

Moody Monday

Last week I wondered into Blockbuster and purchased a few previously viewed DVDs.

Morning Glory was one in my pile.

After watching it I turned this one on repeat

Oh Natasha, I love your tunes, voice and general sassy demeanor.

Relocation

I have relocated offices.

Oh dream on people.

Yep, that's more like it.
Builder beige walls with nothing on them, for now at least.
The only window is to the hallway, which basically means I am in a little fish bowl.
Or a cell.

I'll choose to think of it as a fish bowl.
At least then it is closer to being here

But I am not.
I am in "Builder Beige Hell."

The problem is that I am not allowed more than two personal items.
So I can't spruce the place up.

But oh baby if I could!

But then again, those wouldn't be very "Number crunching financial genius banker" conducive would they?

But the main point in me telling you all this is that now everyone that walks by my fish bowl can see everything that I am doing = no more blogging on the boss's time allowed.

That means I can't look at and comment on your blogs as frequently either.

I am scared.

I don't like staring at computers all day and then going home and neglecting Macdaddy. I don't. But I can't imagine more than 9 hours a day infront of a comp.

We will see.
This is going to take some adjusting.

In the mean time, I am headed to the lake in search of a real tan.
No more of this spray tan bullsh*t.
