Just a Thought

I am a little bit upset right now...

I was visiting my friend Cat over at Perpertual Perfection and saw some pretty hateful anonymous comments from her post yesterday.

Yesterday Cat posted about the insanity that shopping for your wedding dress while picking up tires and toilet paper would be. Well, you can do just that now because Costco is selling wedding dresses.

Cat is cute, sarcastic, sweet and generous.

However, some people did not read what she was saying and instead they attacked her, insinuated that she was making fun of poor people and so forth.

Someone actually quoted scripture to her implying that she does not have a Christian heart.

And that is where I get angry and upset people.

Why do we start blogs?

I started mine as an outlet/journal for my mental sanity.
I wanted to share things I love/dislike.
I wanted to share my opinions and pretty pictures.
I wanted to keep my family and friends "in the loop" on the general events of my day to day life.

Some bloggers have strong opinions, some don't.
Some bloggers use lots of profanity and sexual innuendos, some don't.
Some bloggers are sarcastic, some aren't.

If a blog "offends" me, guess what...I don't read it.
I sure as heck do not leave anonymous comments intended to make the person feel bad about themselves or shameful.

But  if you do feel compelled to leave something hateful then please have the nerve to leave your name.

I applaud Cat for her honesty and opinions.
I applaud her for her responses to these comments and her ability to remain calm and classy.

That being said, I want to thank all you bloggers that go out on a limb daily and share your thoughts and lives with me. I promise I will never hurt your feelings intentionally and if I ever "offend" you, please email me directly and I will send you a handwritten letter of apology and large Hershey Kiss.

Now, if you feel so inclined, go show Cat some love.

Goodwill

This past Saturday night Manfriend and I were invited by this good looking couple to attend the annual Houston Goodwill Gala.

The theme for the evening was "A Night At The Movies" and although we chose not to dress up, there were plenty "representatives...

We ate.
We hydrated.
We danced.
We danced.
We danced.

We even bid on a few things.

Unfortunately fortunately we did not take the $10,000 red fox fur coat home with us.

I did make sure to take home the movie theater size peanut m&m's and Twizzlers that were used in the table scape- Sandra Lee would have been proud of those tables.

All in all, we had a blast and supported a great cause.

Then we ate 3am Mexican.

I hear you judging me.

On my way to NYC tonight.
Recap next week...maybe....I'll try my best.

So What Wednesday

Today I am saying:
  • So what if I don't know what a blog "button" is.
  • So what if I stomped by foot at Manfriend this weekend...that's right, stomped my foot.
  • So what if I haven't changed my sheets in two weeks (let's be real, I don't got a maid)
  • So what if I drank 3 beers at a Pub instead of studying
  • So what if I stayed late at work to blog
  • So what if I talk to myself and it has become more frequent
  • So what if I would pay someone to give me an I.V. of wine
  • So what if I cry during Biggest Loser
  • So what is Saved By The Bell has replaced my Gossip Girl obsession
  • So what if I am actually posting this on Thursday of last week
For more "So What.." head over to Shannon's blog

Happy Hump Day.

Chan Luu for Me

Remember when I posted about Chan Luu after Robin told me to look at the website?

I thought they were gorgeous and cool but then I thought, "Sarah, you need to be saving your money for NYC (this weekend)."

Imagine my surprise when this came for me today

Robin told me that I had "a little something" headed my way but I was sincerely shocked when I unwrapped this.

Look how pretty the little sachet is that is came in

Such attention to detail. Makes it feel that much more special.

I called her immediately and said "I just got the prettiest bracelet in the mail."
I mean, I couldn't wait to put it on.

If it can wrap 5 times around my massive wrists then it can go 10 around yours!

This is the clear quartz and it is perfect for any season. Neutral enough to match almost anything and just sparkly enough to draw the eye.

Isn't is great!
Aren't you jealous?!
Are you going out today to find a friend named Robin that loves you as much as mine does?

Good luck with that.

Moody Monday

My best friend Robin called me last week to tell me about a song for my "Moody Monday" posts.

I wasn't familiar with Kim Richey but I was soothed by her voice. She kind of reminded me of Jewel.

This song reminded Robin of her and my relationship. I bet it will remind you of someone you love also.

See for yourself.

Happy Monday lovely readers!

My MacDaddy Needs a New Outfit

MacDaddy needs of a new lap top case.

Poor Mac, he has been naked for 3 years. Sick, I know.

He is probably going to need massive amounts of therapy but hey, he is fo sho comfortable with himself.

So much in fact, I don't think he would mind a feminine look.

Believe it or not, he is a total name-dropping snob... so only designer will do.

Coach

DVF

Kate Spade

Urban Outfitters

Topshop

Marc by Marc Jacobs

So far he is leaning towards the Kate Spade.
I have a feeling that it's because he thinks someone will mistake the keyboard as being real and start poking his rock hard bod.

I told him to stop trying to be a player.
Once you get a reputation as being a man-whore....well, I don't think you ever get rid of it.

I am leaning towards DVF. I have some of her luggage and it has held up so well.
I may have an ulterior motive....people will think he is gay. And girls like gay friends. Which means my slutty Internet will start hanging around more often.

See, there really is a method to my madness people!

Happy Weekend.

I'm like, busy

Cut me some slack.
I've been busy.

I know, I promised pictures from when my parents were in town.
Oh yea, and more from my sister's wedding.

But see, I have the tiniest of problems.....my Internet at home has been cheating on me.

That's right. CHEATING.
It says "Hey, my light is green and I'm all yours baby." But that just is NOT the case.
It is somewhere else. Off in Internet dating world or something. Hanging out with some other gangsta a$$ Internet connection.

So, you can see how it would be difficult to post photos at home.
Instead I have to get to work early and sneak in some bloggy blog bloggin. SHHHH.

What's that you say? Take my computer to B&N and do it before I study.
I'm sorry, have we met? If I had my computer with free and fast Internet at the bookstore..(insert dramatic pause) how much studying do you think I would get done people?! I am trying to work on my knowledge (and fitness but that's another story).
I mean, Facebook went viral for a reason...duh.

No no, I cannot have my Mac-daddy with me when I study. Just ain't gonna work.

So, I owe you.
And I miss every single one of my blog roll peeps.

I will find the time.
I will.

Back to WORK!

Amber Interior Design

New Friend! Well, she doesn't know it yet....

Today I stumbled upon Amber Interior Design. I was hanging out at Kelly Green and fell in love with this inspiration board that Amber made.

Anyways, I headed over to Amber's bloggy and guess what I found....

A GIVEAWAY!

You know I like a good bargain but really love a freebie.

Amber is hosting a giveaway for Olive Leaf Stencils.
Head on over because it ends Thursday!

They Don't Love You Like I Love You, Maps

via Elle Decor

via Pottery Barn

Ralph Lauren via

via Traditional Home

I need a little nugget so I can plaster it's room in maps.

Yea, I said it.

Don't freak out Mom/Manfriend/Sister.
Don't get excited Robin.

I'm just sayin it would be cute is all.

And if you are thinking "Maps on walls, please. So over..." well then you can kiss my big bottom and not come back here.

Some dream of weddings and rings and kitchen aid mixers....some dream of chubby little smooth nuggets.
Or puppies. But only if they have puppy breath.

I will stop now.

Goodbye.

Moody Monday

This one came on the radio the other morning at work and I must have been pretty caught off guard because I started to cry.
I'm not feeling particularly emotional lately either.
It is just that beautiful.
And I love it.
Maybe you do also.

So do you?

Virtual Friend and Gift Giver

Look what came for me last week!

My friend Cat from Perpetual Perfection sent this over to me.

If you remember, I blogged about her giveaway here a few weeks ago.

I didn't win.

But she fell in love with me so she sent me one anyways.

That's what happens people! You show some blog love and gifts magically appear at your doorstep.

And there is proof....
...in the form of a handwritten note on monogrammed stationary no doubt. That's what I like about the South...handwritten notes will NOT die.

I may be semi-new to this blogging game, and I may only have 35 followers but I must be doing something right!

Y'all might want to make nice with Cat.

Thanks again Cat for sending me my candle! I love love love love it.

If I hadn't given up FLOUR

That's right.
I gave up flour for Lent.

I decided not to give up all carbs because let's face it-I am a thoughtful person. Thoughtful people do not subject those around them to hissing, stomping, b*tching.... and that is exactly what I would be doing if I didn't have one single carbohydrate at my finger tips. So I allowed myself Rice (and other whole grains that do not contain flour).

But let's face it. Week two is rough. It probably doesn't help that I have the "sads" because my parents left.

I am depressed today and want to eat depressed food.

What comes to my mind when I want depressed food?
Just a little thing I like to call "FLOUR."

So, today's post =

If I Hadn't Given Up Flour I Would Be Eating....

Blueberry and cream cheese stuffed french toast

Pizza. Duh.

Gooey gooey get ya some choc chip cookies

Cheddar cheese biscuits (smeared with butter)

Dessert Gallery French Vanilla cake

Um, creamy and cheesy pasta

McDonald's (2 for $1) baked apple pie
(yea, pretend you didn't know it was 2 for $1)

Cookies 'n Cream

I need shock therapy...or something.

What did you give up for Lent?
Having troubles yet?

(How do you feel about signatures btw? Ok, goodbye for reals.)

Do As The Romans Do

Manfriend has been complaining.
Apparently the street light outside his room has been coming through the shutters and keeping him up at night.

So, as most girls that love design would, I suggested some drapes.

{enter scary/disgusted/insulted look on Manfriend's face}

Why are boys afraid of fabric?
In my opinion, a roman shade can be quite masculine.

Lets convince him that when done correctly, roman shades can be less "lady" and more "I am Man, hear me roar."

Can't remember originally...Elle Decor maybe? Anyone know? Help me out.

So Manfriend...what do you think?

Maybe in fabric like these

Bryant Avenue Stripe

Mariano Texture in Khaki

Roth Flaye Plaid

Roth Branford Check

Robert Allen Fluidity in Khaki

Trust me Manfriend, this could be a good thing.
