Sugarland

I met this cool girl when I moved to Houston.
Her name is Erin and she isn't from around here either.
But, we are bonded by the Delta sisterhood.
I hear your judgement....you think it's cheesy. Well, it's not.

Erin and I both moved here from different cities, not knowing anyone, around the same time. We met at a Tri Delta alumni night out and have been hanging out since.

I guess it was about 2 weeks ago (yea, I'm behind) that we went to the Rodeo to see Sugarland perform.
We had such a blast!
We made sure to get there in time to watch the jaw dropping cowboys, riding bare back on bucking broncos.

We may have had a few $7 beers, and split ate our own orders of salty nachos.

Then came the main event.

The reason we went in the first place.

 Gorgeous music like this...

The stage was really cool and they put on an awesome performance.

Now I cannot stop listening to their music.

What's your favorite Sugarland song?

I'm diggin Little Miss.

My parents are coming in town tonight and I cannot wait to go pick them up.
We are headed to the Rodeo tomorrow.
Dad is pumped.
He is a farmer at heart...

And they are both pretty cute

I will no doubt have the "sads" when they leave.

What's on tap for your weekend?
Happy Friday

Help! I've Fallen

So, I've fallen off the wagon.

After shedding some major lbs with the help of weight watchers and a good deal of fitness, I have hit a wall. Have fallen off the wagon. Have been on hiatus (for 3 weeks).

Why does this happen? Where does all the motivation go?
You have to know what I am talking about.....

Four months ago I was "get that fatty cookie away from my face." Today I was all "I'd like a large cookies n cream milkshake. I'm sorry...did you ask if I wanted the whip cream and cherry? DUH. Why do you think I am ordering a milkshake at lunch? To forgo the toppings? Just give me my total and let me leave so you can judge me as I drive off gulping my delicious, anxiety inducing treat!"

One would think that the looming swimsuit season would scare me into starvation.
False. Doesn't scare me....Bring on the swim skirt sister! I'm going back for seconds!

But seriously, where does the willpower go? What happened to my routine?

All of these questions have left my buttery popcorn fingers typing "weigh loss cleanse" into google while praying for some super secret genie potion  to promise 10lbs weight loss for a mere $5.99....overnight of course. But I know better...or do I?

Ever heard of a little something called the "Master Cleanse," and known as the "Lemonade diet?"
Beyonce used it to loose weight for her role in dreamgirls.
Looks like it worked pretty well huh.

Now, I'm no dummy. I don't expect 20lbs gone in 10 days. Nor do I believe that I can go 10 days without solid food. Manfriend would no doubt break up with me, only after committing me to the ward for psycho, food deprived behavior.

But, who is against a fresh start? Nothing like a good cleanse to get the ball rolling again right?
And what's wrong with the other benefits.....increased focus (on how hungry you are), brightened mood (yea, we will see), cut back on sleep (bc your running to the potty all night), reclaim your youthful appearance...you get the picture.

Here is what I will need:
Grade B Maple Syrup
Organic lemon juice (or juice of fresh lemons)
Cayenne pepper
Non-iodized salt
Purified Water
Herbal Tea with Senna

Everyone I have talked to that has tried this only lasted a few days, reported major weight loss, and said that the drink kind of taste like spicy lemonade....Doesn't sound terrible...'

So? Are you ready to call my mom and schedule an intervention?
Or are you heading to Whole Foods?

Man, Rochelle (ww leader) is not going to like this post!

Chan Luu

Last week, my best friend Robin and I were chatting about things that we want, have, love...
That is when she dropped the Chan Luu bomb on me.

Now, I haven't been totally living under a rock.
I have seen the "wrap bracelets" around town and on the arms of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and my friend, Reese Witherspoon but I never knew who made them.

Robin wore several during the Fall and is looking for a few new colors for Spring. If she likes them enough to get more for another season then I figured I must see what the fuss is all about.

So I headed over to the website to see what the fuss was all about.

Then.....I. Fell. In. Love.

Particularly with these

I think I am going to have to have some.
What do you think?
Check them out.
What are your favorite combinations?

Do you have any must have Spring accessories that I must know about?

Happy Hump Day!

A Change Will Do You Good

I've been itching for a style change lately.
And Bob has been on my mind.

Relax Manfriend.
I'm talking about this Bob

See, I have had long hair since, well, high school really. I have cut it to my collar bone before, but never anything like this look above.

Since Sister's wedding I have been back and forth....

Chop to sexy, sassy, classy and sleek bob....

or keep growing to sexy, goddess, Kardash length locks...

Manfriend is all about a chop

Emmicia thinks everyone can use a little length

My biggest and only fear is that my face will look chubby and I'll look less like a girl....

Seriously need some help, guidance, opinions, pointers....
What length do you think?
Any styles I need to google?

Keep in mind I live in Houston, TX. It is H.O.T. here starting late Spring. And this head of hair that is probably equivalent to two normal people's thickness, well....it gets pretty damn hot to be honest.

I have until Easter to decide. That is when I am flying home to Memphis.
Dan, stylist extraordinaire, is the only one I trust to make this chop happen.
That is, if I decide to in fact chop...

Consider this a plee for help and direction!

Side Note: Must get chiseled jaw line in next 2 months!

UPDATE: 2 votes for chop...
UPDATE: 5 for chop, looks like yall are wanting a sassy, classy BOB

Moody Monday

At Alabama there is a building called Moody Music Hall.

I am going to try and take the advice of fellow bloggers and begin a series that y'all can count on each week.
I have always loved music and so I am going to attempt "Moody Monday" in which I share a favorite tune from my past, current jam I am obsessed with, or lyrical ballad that makes me say "huh?"

Today I am starting with a song by Explosions in the Sky.
Pandora has been playing them a lot during my study nights at Barnes and Noble and I have really grown to appreciate their music. There are no lyrics but I usually find myself applying it to some memory of my life or just daydream with it in the background.....hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be studying to it...

Here is one of my favorites
