Finally Finished

Remember when I told y'all that I was going to make a necklace display out of an old shutter?

Well, I found the shutter nearly two months ago

And this weekend after lots of scrubbing, I finally completed it.

Good grief, that is a quality photo if I've ever seen one.
Anyways, that is it, now I just have to decide how to hang it on the wall.

I started by marking where I wanted the knobs to go with chalk.
Then used almost the widest drill bit I could find.

Power tools have a way of making me feel in total control of my life.

I've been collecting these for two years now.

But this one is hands down my absolute favorite.
DELTAS!

Originally I wanted to paint it white but decided that I liked the chipped, aged look. Besides, it's an antique.

I chose 10 of the 15-ish and believe me, it was H.A.R.D. to decide.

What do you think?!

Chan Luu

Last week, my best friend Robin and I were chatting about things that we want, have, love...
That is when she dropped the Chan Luu bomb on me.

Now, I haven't been totally living under a rock.
I have seen the "wrap bracelets" around town and on the arms of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and my friend, Reese Witherspoon but I never knew who made them.

Robin wore several during the Fall and is looking for a few new colors for Spring. If she likes them enough to get more for another season then I figured I must see what the fuss is all about.

So I headed over to the website to see what the fuss was all about.

Then.....I. Fell. In. Love.

Particularly with these

I think I am going to have to have some.
What do you think?
Check them out.
What are your favorite combinations?

Do you have any must have Spring accessories that I must know about?

Happy Hump Day!

Rachel Leigh

Last week I was visiting Persuit of Style when Lindsay suggested I should check out Rachel Leigh's collection.
I had never heard of Rachel Leigh but man do I want to be her best friend now!

I mean, just look at some of her pieces.

Cubed Studs
Mcinnis Studs
Cleo Snakeskin
Great Cuff
Simone Id

There is so much more where that came from.
Thank you Lindsay for the pointer.

Which would you choose?
I know I want the Great Cuff and those killer Mcinnis Studs

DIY

One of my 2011 resolutions is to catch up on all of my "half way there" projects.
One particular project....jewelry organization.

I have been slowly working on this for a little while now (6 months)
Maybe these will light that creative fire again.

One of my favorites has to be all the tea cups.
If you are my virtual friend, you know I heart little girly expensive things that break easily...don't ask why....but at this particular time in my life, I am lacking the extra drawer space.

So, for the past year I have been collecting these

via Anthropologie, World Market, yard sales...and so on.

Now, my plan has been to find an old shutter
or maybe several small ones

then screw all the knobs in to hang all my necklaces.
Finishing this project will free up some drawer space, closet space, AND craft box space!

Weekend forecast =rain
I'm thinking this could be the perfect rainy day project.

Gift Girl Thursday

Believe it or not, before I moved to Texas, I had never seen girls wearing Hermes bracelets.

And I'm sorry, but I just can't help myself....I WANT THEM ALL.
Alabama was like one big David Yurman trunk show.
It was almost a game to see who could fit more on their arm...or at least it seemed that way.
Don't get me wrong, I'm soo not knocking DY.
I just seem to like these babies more.
And boy do I like these....

Wouldn't mind propping my arm up on the table after dinner with these lovers clanking as they slide from my wrist to my elbow (also make believing that my arms are that thin)

The detail is what gets me. Plus, they are enamel and I am a sucker for some fab enamel.

Now, would I like to have these? Yup.
However, I don't think you should underestimate EBay....that's right, I said it.

Or ya know, if you want to buy them yourself and don't have 1/2 a "g" laying around you could head over to this little number.
